Why us?

We’re proud to offer fun, inclusive, and engaging experiences for young people of all ages and abilities. At UKSA, students learn valuable life skills in a safe and inspiring environment. Our personalised programmes use watersports and the outdoors to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and support positive personal growth.

Every young person who visits UKSA leaves with new skills, greater self-belief – and a big smile!

We also believe that cost should never be a barrier. That’s why we offer funding support for children who may not otherwise be able to attend. Our simple application process can help cover the cost of the trip, including travel assistance and a complimentary ferry pass to our waterfront campus on the Isle of Wight.

Adventures to last a lifetime

Best-in-class outdoor education

For over 35 years, UKSA has been delivering inspiring outdoor learning experiences that use sailing and watersports to create lasting, positive change in young people. Our programmes are tailored to each group, helping students build confidence, resilience, and teamwork in a safe and supportive setting.

Schools and groups return to us year after year because we take the time to understand their needs, learning goals, and what they want their students to gain from the experience. With a strong safety record and a caring, expert team, we work closely with teachers, parents, carers, and group leaders to support every child as they take on new and exciting challenges.

A unique learning environment

Our purpose-built, waterfront campus on the beautiful Isle of Wight offers a truly unique environment for learning. Surrounded by clean beaches, stunning scenery, and plenty of sunshine, we believe the sea has the power to inspire and transform.

Watersports and outdoor learning offer young people the chance to explore new skills, both personal and social. Whether it’s their first time on the water or they’re working towards a recognised qualification, our goal is to help them aspire, achieve, and have fun – all while learning skills for life.

We make it easy

From your first enquiry to waving goodbye at the end of your stay, we take care of the details so you can focus on your students. We’ll build a programme that fits your goals — whether that’s a fun multi-activity trip or a personalised syllabus working towards RYA qualifications.

All activities are linked to our Skills for Life framework, and we provide feedback and reports to help schools measure the impact on each student’s development.

Testimonials

Instructors and staff

“We had a fantastic trip, both the staff and students. We felt our every need was catered for with a smile. UKSA are a lovely small, well-oiled company and nothing felt like too much trouble. They have been fantastic with the organisation from day one and we have always been made to feel like we are the only school they were catering for! Great personal service.” – Bianca Harland

“Several of our students are SEN and nervous, yet all children have been able to do as much as they can; they have been challenged and have benefited from the challenge. The instructors were very patient with the children, yet firm enough when needed.” – Haseltine

Facilities

“The whole UKSA experience is wonderful, the environment at the centre and what is included – it’s the whole experience. There is continuity year on year, the trip is easy to organise with good pre-visit information and once at UKSA we know the children are in a wonderfully safe and secure environment, looked after and that the experience is fun and totally inclusive.” – St. Augustine

“It was nice for the teachers to join in with the activities, I have never been to a centre that provides evening entertainment – this was a real bonus. The cinema night was a nice relaxing option, and the children loved crabbing, as they do not get the opportunity to go to the beach.” – Haseltine

Food

“The food was child friendly; tasty, filling and well balanced. There was as much as they wanted, and they particularly enjoyed the puddings! Children with dietary needs or allergies were quickly and well catered for and the kitchen staff were always happy to adapt to individual needs.” – The Greville

“Food and accommodation were great. Nothing was too much trouble at mealtimes; one child is autistic and only ever eats chips. Chips were not on the menu, but the kitchen made chips specially, each night.” – Haseltine

Safety

“As a leader, the whole visit was stress free, and we felt safe, secure and looked after.” – Haseltine

“UKSA were fantastic at adapting to any of our needs, which we had many of. Every member of staff was enthusiastic and really wanted the children to be safe but also pushing their boundaries. The amount of staff available to keep us safe was a huge focus and really reassured the children. The children had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the opportunities that were given to them.” – The Greville
